Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas is one of Rio’s most picturesque areas. With views of Christ the Redeemer, stunning sunsets and a 7.2 kilometer cycle path encircling it, it’s a perfect place to get some exercise or just chill out in one of the many surrounding bars. It is also the venue for some water-based Olympic sports. Whilst it doesn’t have hotels directly on the lake, there are plenty nearby.
