Born in the eastern Bolivian city of Santa Cruz del Sierra, Gutierrez moved to Virginia with her family, where she became interested in fashion and marketing as a young adult. After completing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Marketing at the University of Richmond in Virginia, she went on to complete an honors in Fashion Marketing at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York City.
