Life is hectic, work is stressful and there’s a lot happening right now. Here are the best yoga studios in Canberra to find a little zen.

Stemming from ancient Indian texts, yoga is an important part of religious cultures from South and Southeast Asia. The benefits of the exercise have been widely adopted by people all over the world, and you can find yoga classes just about anywhere you go. Canberra has a number of excellent teachers and some beautiful spaces in which to practise. When this stressful world has got your muscles all knotted up, take a deep breath and check out one of these studios.

Canberra has many different yoga classes on offer

1. Flow Yoga

Yoga Studio

There are few places more atmospheric than an art gallery, so that’s exactly where this yoga takes place. Teaming up with the NewActon arts and culture precinct, Flow Yoga runs sessions among the art in the Nishi Gallery. There are just six classes a week, but teacher Odona also occasionally runs special classes to coincide with other arts events such as the Art, Not Apart festival, and guests at the nearby Ovolo Hotel can attend classes for free. Once you’ve finished your practice, leave some time for a different kind of self-care and visit one of the restaurants or bars in the NewActon precinct, and salute the tequila sunrise!

2. Rise Studio

Yoga Studio

This beautiful space in the south of Canberra is not just a studio, but also a community. Rise aims to offer a space for people to connect, relax and take some time out of their busy days for themselves. Along with conventional yoga classes they also run workshops to help people create mindfulness routines that they can implement in their everyday lives. With a focus on mobility and inclusivity, Rise aims to create a safe space for all people to participate.

3. Canberra Yoga Space

Yoga Studio

This busy studio has a huge range of classes ranging from meditation and beginner classes to strong dynamic styles. They also run courses for pregnant women and motherhood classes to support women after giving birth in a supportive and child-friendly environment. The Canberra Yoga Space is also a great option for people wanting to train as teachers, or learn more about a range of different yoga styles.

4. SOULution

Yoga Studio

This popular inner-city studio is right in the middle of hipster Lonsdale Street. Sweat it out in a heated ‘Soul Burn’ class or cool off with a slow Yin practice. If you’ve always wanted to further your understanding of yoga practices, SOULution is also fully qualified to run teacher training. SOULution also runs sessions by the lake for those wanting some fresh air. If you’re lucky you may have some enthusiastic pups joining in for some downward dog.

5. here.

Yoga Studio

The team at here. have created a simple but elegant light-filled space with big windows and natural materials. They offer a number of different classes with their own twist on conventional names. Try out go.yo for a more upbeat class, or practise mindfulness with a slow.yo class. This studio also takes a holistic approach by providing services for your mind and your body with on-site physiotherapy and psychology. There’s a long communal table and filter coffee available, so you can socialise or relax for a little longer before returning to the real world.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
