Whether it’s the school holidays, or you’re just wanting to treat the kids to some fun activities on the weekend, Brisbane has some great options for all budgets. Start the day with a walk, get out and about with the kids and become parent of the year with this list.

GOMA is a great option for those kids who need creative stimulation to keep them busy. The modern art gallery provides activities and programs for kids of all ages, as well as fun games and videos. Keep an eye on their website to see what’s going on for kids.

Streets Beach

This one ticks all the kid boxes; the excitement of a train ride to the city, water-play at South Bank’s manmade beach, endless ice cream opportunities and playgrounds. There isn’t unlimited shade though, so bear that in mind when visiting – sunscreen and hats are required.

Enoggera Reservoir & Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre

This is a day trip that will blow the kid’s expectations out of the water, while only being about twenty minutes from the city. Start by heading to the Discovery Centre and give the kids a wildlife experience. Take a picnic lunch, explore the walking trails and set up at the reservoir. Don’t forget to take your swimmers for a dip in the cool lake.

TreeTop Challenge

Located at the Gold Coast just 50 minutes from Brisbane, this one is for the thrill seeker kids or those needing to be pushed a little out of their comfort zone. Australia’s biggest and first High Ropes Adventure Park is a great way to get the kids to conquer some fears.
