1. Green Patch

Advance reservations are recommended for this scenic lagoon-side campground just south of Jervis Bay Village in Booderee National Park, with sites tending to book out a month in advance on weekends from October to May. Surrounded by the Aussie bush and just 200m from Iluka Beach, the Green Patch campground has hot showers and electric and wood barbecues. If you miss out on a spot, try Bristol Point, just off to the east.

2. Honeymoon Bay

A small sheltered bay on the Beecroft Peninsula, just south of Currarong, Honeymoon Bay lives up to its name as one of the region’s most romantic camping spots. While fully booked during the summer holiday period via a ballot system held every August, campsites tend to be available on most weekends at other times during the year on a first-come, first-served basis – the site is closed on weekdays. A composting toilet is the only amenity here, so you’ll need to bring everything else, including water.
