Shadowland Returns to Melbourne

Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 28 July 2016
Seen by over half a million people worldwide, the fantastical theatrical show Shadowland is returning to Australia this year and will be playing at the State Theatre and Frankston Arts Centre this August. The show was catapulted to fame when dance troupe Pilobus performed at the 79th Academy Awards. Watch as human bodies morph into animals, landscapes, buildings and cars through dance illusion and the playful and indigenous use of light and shadows to tell the story of a young girl’s surreal experiences. Shadowland was created in collaboration with the Emmy-nominated head writer of Spongebob Squarepants, Steven Banks, and singer-songwriter David Poe with artistic director Michael Tracey and executive producer Itamar Kubovy.
