Updated: 28 July 2016
This August, the ARC Centre of Excellence in Bio-Nano Science and the Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity will host a free screening of the 2011 medical thriller Contagion as a part of National Science Week. Praised by the scientific community, the film, which stars Marion Cotillard, Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, and Jennifer Ehle, centres around a worldwide virus epidemic and the search for a cure. After the film, a panel of experts will discuss their research and response procedures if such an event were to occur as well as providing professional insight into disease outbreaks.
