Romeo & Juliet Performed By The Australian Ballet

Updated: 14 May 2016
Among the classic ballets, there is hardly a love story more eponymous for love and desperation than Romeo and Juliet. The version as we know it was famously written by William Shakespeare, although the theme of the tragedy stretches back to antiquity. Set in Verona, Italy, it tells the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet who are the offspring of two feuding grand families, the Montagues and Capulets. For the first time now, acclaimed choreographer Stanton Welch brings the production to Australia with a lavish costume and set design by Roberta Guidi di Bagno. Ballet fans are in for a treat but should bring tissues, as this play is going to end in tears.
