This Sunday 29th May, Melbourne’s first Italian Wine + Food Festival is coming to the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton. Say buon appetito and immerse yourself within Italian culture with delectable delicacies and traditional food and wine. Take a sip from 200 of Italy‘s finest wines, meet winemakers including Luca Currado from Piedmont winery Vietti and drop by a masterclass hosted by Max Allen. After so much wine you’ll be left feeling as dizzy as a tarantella and there’s only one cure for that: Italian food. Melbourne’s top chefs including Johnny di Francesco (400 Gradi) and Rosa Mitchell from (Rosa’s Canteen) will be turning up the heat in cooking demonstrations and throughout the day you can watch on as masters of Italian cuisine make cannoli, ravioli and arancini amongst other Italian classics. Limited edition ricotta with bitter chocolate and candied orange gelato from Pidapipo founder Lisa Valmorbida and Rosa’s Canteen chef Rosa Mitchell is sure to be a sell out. This food market is sure to open your eyes to how Italian’s really eat.
