What happens when a supremely talented artist reimagines a timeless fairytale from one of the most influential writers of the 20th century? Magic. Produced over the course of two years, Del Kathryn Barton used her signature style to breathe life into Oscar Wilde’s classic short story, The Nightingale and the Rose, which was first published in 1888. Working with award-winning visual effects house Method Studios, the final creation pays homage to the tragic earnestness of Wilde’s tale. The breath-taking images are underscored by music from Sarah Blasko and voiced by some of Australia’s most celebrated actors, including Mia Wasikowska, Geoffrey Rush and David Wenham.
