📅 July 16 – July 17, 2016
For the second year running, the State Library of Victoria presents the Bastille Day French Festival. Francophones and Francophiles are invited to celebrate La fête nationale over two days with French cuisine at the food and drink market, cheese and wine master classes, and French films, including Michel Ocelot’s KIRIKOU and Tales Of The Night and the 1967 musical The Young Girls of Rochefort. There will also be a series of conferences covering everything from French history and exploration to immigration and travel tips to science and wine, as well as workshops and two grand raffles. Entrance is free as are many of the events; however, bookings are essential for movie screenings. This July, sport le drapeau tricolore and say Vive la France! Beret optional.
