2. Bob’s Bar

Named after former Australian prime minister Bob Hawke, Bob’s Bar sits atop the multi-level Print Hall venue – a former newspaper house in the Central Business District. Sip a pint – à la Bob himself – and sample some of Western Australia’s finest craft beers. Try the classic local beer, Emu Export or, if you’re in the mood for a cocktail, go for the The Hugh Jackman – white and dark rum, orgeat and lychee – and expect it to pack a punch.

3. Hadiqa

Hadiqa is a rooftop cocktail bar in the heart of the CBD. Named after the Arabic word for garden, it features an Instagram-worthy decor – think plants, tile floors and chic couches. Let the chef take you on a culinary tour of Moroccan, Mediterranean and Greek tasting boards. Plump for the vodka-based Moroccopolitan cocktail on a warm day.

7. The National Hotel

Located in Fremantle’s West End, this iconic hotel and pub has a rooftop that could easily rival the rooftops of New York. Before welcoming live music seven nights a week, this stalwart pub was destroyed in a massive fire. Sympathetic to the heritage-listed area, the owners rebuilt it with original interiors and exteriors reinstalled to maintain its historic beginnings, complete with jarrah flooring. The selection of craft and premium beers can only be beaten by the rooftop’s impressive 360-degree views of Rottnest Island. With affordable accommodation and a family-friendly restaurant on the first floor, we’re not sure you’ll ever want to leave.

8. The Aviary

As the name suggests, The Aviary sits perched atop a steel cage bar. The lively venue offers up a range of tasty bites, from burgers and pizza to modern twists on sandwiches, or ‘sangas’ as they’re known here. Take a seat on the terrace for a killer cocktail – the espresso martini is a highlight – and bask in the ambience.

Touted as one of the best rooftops to party at, the Rooftop at QT is known for its great location and first-class cocktails. Situated in the Central Business District, this bar sits on the 18th floor of the QT Hotel. The incredible views are complemented by the West Aussie artist-designed turquoise glass doors. Enjoy snacks from the al fresco menu and a cocktail or two while taking in the city skyline.
