In a busy and bustling city like Sydney, it comes as no surprise that there are start-ups and small business ventures aplenty. These are the top seven to watch out for; from finance to tech, travel to arts, here are the start-ups making waves in the world of business right now.

BriN

BRiN is the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) smart phone business advisor. Born out of the frustration of new businesses failing due to lack of information and advice, the app – which is 100% free – can be downloaded from Apple Store or Google Play onto all iOS8 (or higher) devices. Jam packed with all the most frequently asked questions and concerns, BRiN is the pocket-friendly business advisor, who is happy to help day or night. Already tipped as one to watch by Forbes, Sky News and Business Insider, we expect big things from BRiN.

Grassrootz

Newly established start-up Grassrootz is changing the way companies and charities fundraise. Their mission is simple: enable ‘for purpose’ organisations to raise more money by reducing the costs of fundraising. Founded by Ben Graetz, Angela Dunn and James Gilray this mobile and online platform has quickly become a favourite for Australian charities such as St Vincent de Paul, Cure Brain Cancer, and the Cancer Council. Recently Grassrootz was awarded the exclusive contract to provide the online fundraising for the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2017, and was pleased to announce a 40% rise in funds raised online across the event for Australian charities.

Easy Share

Easy Share is the start-up all housemates are hailing at the minute. This payment app is designed for those sharing a home with numerous people. Gone are the days of splitting electricity bills in quarters and awkward bank transfers, Easy Share allow each individual of a household to sign up, link their bank account, outline their share of bills and the app (thankfully) takes care of the rest. To date the trending start-up has already helped users pay over $10 million worth of rent and bills.

Leezair

Leezair is the Sydney start-up for locals and tourists alike. This platform allows users to log on, state their location and start experiencing. The site offers real time adventure bookings, whether that is climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, whale watching or biking around Manly. Heralding the future of tourism and activity bookings, Leezair is certainly one to watch.

Inamo

This recently launched tech start-up has received attention internationally for its simple solution to living efficiently. Inamo CURL, developed by Founder and CEO Peter Colbert, is a small and understated waterproof device that can be attached to watches, jewellery, keyrings (and so on) and which can make contactless payments with Visa payWave, and if that doesn’t sound appealing enough, there are no monthly fees, transaction or load fees.

Muru Music

Fusing deep understanding of music with AI, Muru Music takes playlist compilation to new heights. Founded by renowned Pacha Ibiza DJ, Nicc Johnson, Muru Music technology uses AI to allow for better, more accurate song recommendations based on the users preferences, whether that be tempo, energy, popularity or era – all of which can be changed in an instant at the touch of a button. Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
