Fiesta Noche del Rio has been bringing performances to the Riverwalk since 1957. This outdoor event brings songs and dances of Mexico, Spain, Argentina, and Texas to tourists and locals every Friday and Saturday night of the summer. The event has attracted over one million visitors over its long 60-year history. This year’s performance is organized into seven acts, and its many influences can be seen in diverse selections like ‘Romantic Latin Music’ and ‘Gotta Dance Country.’ Heather Akkerman is Fiesta Noche del Rio 2016’s executive director, and Elizabeth Sanchez-Lopez is the director and choreographer for the show. Proceeds from the show benefit local children’s charities.
