Whether you’re lured by the incredible sands or angling opportunities, there are plenty of hotels in Port Aransas, Texas, in which to rest up. Some retain the small fishing town feel, but you’ll also find home-from-home condos and want-for-nothing resorts. Here are the best places to stay in Port Aransas.

Camp Coyoacan

Glamp in this urban campground filled with tent cabins and yurts. Lest that sound too rustic, know you’ll settle into a comfy queen-sized bed (a few tents have more than one), enjoy a shower in the morning and air conditioning will keep you cool. Bring your gadgets (there’s a desk and electricity) or relax on your private deck with coffee each morning. This colorful, modern campground has an outdoor pool and a place to rent gear and bikes for exploring. Walkers can hoof it to the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center, beaches and the pier.

There’s fun for the whole family with “dive-in movies,” sandcastle building, yoga and aqua zumba classes. Dining opportunities are not confined to the full-service restaurant at the conference center; grab an ice cream from the cart, get a snack from the food truck or enjoy a colorful cocktail at the poolside Cabana Bar. There are pools and water slides to splash in and a long boardwalk to the beach taking you over the dunes. Spacious suites run from one bedroom to three, making them ideal for group getaways or a family vacation.
