SXSW Interactive Awards: The Best Of The 2016 Festival

Picture of Barbi Barbee
Updated: 23 March 2016
From its start in 1997, South By Southwest Interactive has been a springboard for new technologies, businesses, and ideas. This five-day segment of the SXSW Festival is comprised of panels, networking events, startup workshops, a gaming expo, and more. Thousands of visitors travel to Austin to participate, learn, and create every year. To recognize the stand-out ideas presented at the festival, SXSW honors startups, technology advancements, and video games in a number of awards competitions.

The Accelerator Awards recognize startups who participated in the Accelerator pitch competition, a two-day competition in front of an audience and a panel of judges who pick the best interactive technology ideas. The Innovator Awards honor the best new interactive technologies, hardware, and design. The Gaming Awards recognize the art, design, and skill of video game creators as part of the SXSW Gaming Expo. Check out the full list of winners below for the 2016 SXSW Interactive Festival held March 11-15.
