Race Dragons At Houston Dragon Boat Festival

Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 2 May 2016
No, those aren’t sea monsters in the bayou – it’s the Houston Dragon Boat Festival. The Dragon Boat Festival is back in Houston for its 16th year. The festival consists of cultural performances, live music, and food. Of course, the star of the show is the dragon boat race. Over 30 teams will race traditional Hong Kong-style BuK dragon boats 250 meters to 1000 meters down the bayou in downtown Houston. The races occur in waves throughout the festival, so you’re almost guaranteed to get in on the fun when you head over. The festival aims to promote the tradition of dragon boat racing while showcasing the outdoor attractions the city has to offer.

📅 May 7–8, 8:30AM–4PM

📍Dragon Boat Festival, 901 North York St, Houston, TX, USA
