Explore Beat-era Manhattan in Cassavetes’ Shadows

The Museum of Fine Arts Houston presents John Cassavetes’ Shadows as part of the 4th Annual Jazz on Film series. The film follows brothers Hugh and Ben – two struggling musicians – and their sister Leila over two weeks in Beat-era Manhattan. They navigate fights, identity, and interracial relations during the period in New York City. The movie is presented on 35mm film. The Jazz on Film series is curated by Peter Lucas who has produced several film festivals, exhibitions and events for MFAH. Over 25 films will be shown as part of the series throughout the month of June and beyond.
