Texas has become an international destination for live music, and this list includes a range of events that caters to many different music tastes including dance, country, and rock.

The Music Run

20 February (Austin), 12 March (Dallas)

The Music Run isn’t your average music festival — the creators behind this event combined the concept of a 5k run with a music festival to create this hybrid event. During the run, you can select a playlist to keep you pumped up as you race to the finish line, and afterwards you can relax with the other runners and enjoy the music!

The massive line up includes over 2,000 acts and is a mix of established artists as well as newcomers. A few highlights in this year’s lineup are The Chainsmokers and Crystal Castles. The festival was created to be an alternative to SXSW, meaning that the price of admission is more affordable than its counterpart and the scale of the event is more intimate. The festival includes a mix of artists — however, most would be classified as rock music. A few notable bands that will be performing are New Found Glory, Bayside, and State Champs.
