Houston Symphony’s A Star Spangled Salute

Head over for to Miller Outdoor Theatre for a night of free music and fireworks. The whole family is welcome to this annual 4th of July celebration in the middle of Houston’s beloved Hermann Park. The Houston Symphony will perform an entire program of patriotic anthems while fireworks paint the sky overhead. Free tickets can be picked up at the box office from 10:30AM – 1PM, if you wish to sit under the covered area. Seating on the hill does not require a ticket. The fun starts at 8:30PM.

Houston Astros VS Seattle Mariners

Celebrate the 4th of July under the stadium lights while enjoying America’s pastime. Head out to Houston’s Minute Maid Stadium to watch the Houston Astros and the Seattle Mariners face off on the field. The game starts at 7:15PM and ends by 11PM. With tickets starting at $5, it’s an affordable option for the whole family. While you’re cheering on the Astros, grab some traditional stadium food, and don’t forget that Wednesdays are $1 hotdog nights.

Pearland’s Celebration of Freedom

Head down south for Pearland’s Celebration of Freedom concert event presented by Pearland Parks & Recreation. The free event begins seating at 6PM. The program kicks off with a Veterans of Foreign Wars military salute and the national anthem. The Slags will take the stage the rest of the night, capped off by a firework show at 9PM. The event will also have craft vendors, food trucks, a children’s play area, and games. No outside food or drinks will be allowed into the event.

Freedom Over Texas

Celebrate the 4th of July with music, food, beer, and sports in one of Houston’s beautiful parks. The Freedom Over Texas celebration is an annual event produced by the Mayor’s Office of Special Events. The festival features musical performances by Grammy-winning musician Darius Rucker and Houston’s own The Suffers. The event also has entertainment for the kids, a beer garden, military salutes, Houston athletes, and fireworks. Freedom Over Texas starts at 4PM and stretches on until 10PM. Tickets are $8 if purchased before the day of the event.

4th of July Celebration at Bayou Bend

Take a step back in time to the earliest days of our country at the 10th Annual 4th of July Celebration at Bayou Bend. The event is held at the historic home of Ima Hogg, an early-1900s philanthropist and the daughter of Texas Governor Jim Hogg. The 4th of July Celebration at Bayou Bend features birthday cake, crafts, performers, a reading of The Declaration of Independence, and more. Visitors can add their signature to a giant Declaration of Independence. The event starts at noon and ends at 5PM.

Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular at Citycenter

Enjoy four days of live music and fireworks at Citycentre’s Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular. The event kicks off on Friday with a Motown and classic rock line up. Saturday brings some classic rock and country tunes. Sunday night is a lineup of inspirational music. Monday night is the main event, with country and rock performances and a firework show at 9:30PM. The event is free and parking is $5. No outside food or drink is allowed, but there are restaurants at the center where attendees can purchase refreshments.

The Woodlands’s Red, Hot and Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza offers family-friendly fun and entertainment. The event kicks off at 6PM with entertainment on multiple stages. Memorial City Fourth of July Hot Air Balloonfest

If you’re looking for something a little different this 4th of July, head over to Memorial City Mall for the inaugural Memorial City Fourth of July Hot Air Balloonfest. The event will have food trucks, face painting, craft vendors, games, live music entertainment, line dancing and, of course, hot air balloons. A 25-foot hot air balloon will be taking brave festival-goers 100 feet up in the air. Rides cost $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Proceeds from the event benefit Memorial Assistance Ministries. The event begins at 6PM and ends at 9PM.

Bellaire’s July 4th Parade and Festival

Get the 4th of July started early at The City of Bellaire’s July 4th Parade and Festival. The event starts at 9:30AM, with a parade beginning at Bellaire Triangle. The parade route continues down to Bellaire Blvd and Rice Ave. Kids who wish to participate can join in the children’s parade that leads the big parade. After the parade, the festival will begin at Town Square. The festival will have food, games, a small Ferris wheel, bounce castles, a petting zoo, and live entertainment. Admission to the event is free.
