Hamilton Pool

Hamilton Pool Preserve – Travis County

Hamilton Pool is one of the best places to swim in Texas. This natural pool was created when the dome of an underground river collapsed and has been a popular place for Austinites and visitors ever since. During high water, a waterfall cascades from the top, making it a romantic place to swim and have a picnic afterwards.

Mount Bonnell is Austin’s highest point

What’s more romantic than a great view? Mount Bonnell has been a hot spot since the 1850s. Whether you go while the sun is up or at night, Mount Bonnell would be the best place to sneak in a kiss. Enjoy the view over the city with your special someone here.

Krause Springs

It’s a bit of a drive, but it’s well worth it. Krause Springs is a beautiful place with cypress trees, a waterfall and a huge swimming hole. Outside of the swimming hole and swimming pool, a butterfly garden with chimes resonating around you is available for a walk-through. You will feel like have escaped Austin and ended up somewhere tropical.

McKinney Roughs Sunset Float Trip

A sunset over any type of water screams romance. Why not be on a river while watching the sun go down. You and your special someone will be soaking in the beauty of Texas’ nature while floating on a raft. There’s nothing like a Texas sunset. Make it an experience you two will never forget.

Sage Hill Inn

Book a weekend getaway at Sage Hill Inn, one of the largest grounds of any Texas hotel or resort, for some ultimate relaxation. Located in the middle of the Hill Country, you and your special someone will be able to wine and dine while being surrounded by spectacular views. Sage Hill Inn has a pool and a spa and is conveniently located near Salt Lick BBQ and Driftwood Vineyard. This is the ultimate romantic getaway.

Lady Bird Lake

Lady Bird Lake, Austin, Texas, USA

Go kayaking at Lady Bird Lake and enjoy the beautiful weather and views of the Austin skyline. If you don’t want to get in the water, you can walk on the trails surrounding the lake. Still equally beautiful, the area allows you to spend some quality time with your special someone.

Dripping Springs Wine Trail

The Dripping Springs Wine Trail connects three wineries for you to visit and, of course, taste. There will be a shuttle looping throughout the day ( the shuttle is only available from March to October), so you can hop on or hop off as you please. If you don’t feel like driving back home after all the wine, there are accommodation options close by.

Longhorn Caverns

Walk through the Longhorn Caverns and be prepared for a beautiful sight. The two of you will venture underground and learn about the Earth you live on. It will almost feel as if you’re on another planet. You can go on a public tour, or to make it more intimate, you can pay for a private tour. This will be an experience you will never forget.

Austin Steam Train

Take a themed train ride around Austin. Choose between wine-themed rides, beer-themed rides, or even be a part of a murder mystery party while drinking wine or beer. Either way, a train ride getaway is a unique and creative way to spend the day with your favorite person.

Water 2 Wine

If you love wine, why not make your own? You can create your own personalized wine (with custom labels) at Water 2 Wine. Taste test a variety of wines and get involved with the wine-making process.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
