Nashville is a place where the beauty of nature is on display all year round. Surrounded by greenery, lakes, and wildlife, the great outdoors is indeed great in this city. And with plentiful options for fishing, hiking, boating, and other activities, campers will not be disappointed when they stay at one of these Nashville campgrounds. The combination of scenic views and outdoor recreational fun is a match made in heaven for those who want to go camping in Nashville.

1. Nashville KOA Resort

This campground, located less than 3mi (5km) from the Grand Ole Opry, is available to campers who want to stay in an RV or a cabin. On-site amenities include a laundry room, a gym, and a public computer, as well as an outdoor playground that even adults will enjoy. There are plenty of games and activities for everyone, including bocce ball, cornhole, ping-pong, and outdoor movies. Lounge around in a hammock or snuggle up to your loved ones around the fire pit. The pool and hot tub are great for scorching hot summer days or brisk fall nights and guests can bring their four-legged friends along to run and play in the Kamp K9 dog park. For those who want to explore more of the city during their stay, the resort offers a concierge for sightseeing tours.

2. Anderson Road Campground

Camping

Surrounded by J. Percy Priest Lake, this campground is ideal for fishing, boating, and swimming. A variety of fish species call the lake home and several types of wildlife live in the woods and grasslands in the area, making it a prime spot for hunting as well. The Anderson Road Fitness Trail is a paved path that winds just over a mile and is great for hiking along the water. There are 37 campsites that can be reserved, each with access to drinking water, a dump station, and flushing toilets. There is also a boat ramp and swimming beach for guests to use.

3. Safe Harbor RV Resort

Situated on a peninsula, this resort offers incredible views of J. Percy Priest Lake that can be seen throughout the campground. There are 131 full hook-up sites, each including cable and wifi. Guests have access to bathhouses, showers, and laundry facilities and can enjoy the outdoor pool from May through October. A playground facility is available for children, which offers covered seating to parents who want to watch their kids play while admiring the lake views. To explore the water up close, guests can rent kayaks, boats, or paddle boards.

5. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park

Camping

There are more than 230 campsites at this Music City campground. Most are pull-thru sites, but there are also several no hook-up tent sites, and cabins available. Amenities featured at the campground include a convenience store, trash pickup, movie rentals, an outdoor pool, a playground, free wifi and cable, and 24-hour laundry facilities. One of the park’s most recent editions is the Hot Rod Ice Cream Shoppe, where campers can enjoy homemade dipped ice cream on hot summer days. Seasonal events take place at the campground throughout the year; the most well-known being the annual Dancing Lights of Christmas, which takes place at Christmastime.

6. Nashville I-24 Campground

With options for tent, RV, and cabin camping, this Smyrna campground, surrounded by lovely Nashville greenery, is both family and pet-friendly. Guests have access to a large outdoor pool, a half basketball court, a playground, and hot showers. There’s also a propane fill up station, coin-operated laundry, a convenience store, and a rec room. With a location that’s convenient to downtown, East Nashville, and the surrounding areas, campers don’t have to venture out too far to explore the city.

7. Cedar Creek Campground

Camping

On Old Hickory Lake outside of Nashville, this campground features 59 campsites surrounded by wooded areas and grassy flatlands with nearly 440mi (700mi) of scenic shoreline. Popular recreational activities for campers include fishing, sailing, and hiking. With animals like wild turkeys, white-tailed deer, and rabbits known to frequent the area, wildlife viewing and bird watching are also a great way to pass the time. Modern amenities found at the campground include laundry facilities, hot showers, and a playground for children.
