1. Mount Airy Casino and Resort

The good news is that the Mount Airy Casino and Resort is within footsteps of the fairytale-pretty Woodland Trail and Marry Hill Trail. The bad news is that you’ll be so distracted by the in-house assets at the resort that you’ll forget all about them. It may be the slot machines, where you can crank hours away before realizing you’re late for your tee-time at the 18-hole golf course, or that you’re so blissed-out in the spa you miss the start of the live entertainment at the event center. You’ll just have to tick the trails off next time.

2. Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark

You want to hit the ski slopes, but the kids want to splash about? No worries – the Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark offers the best of both worlds. Spend the morning on the pistes, before returning to base for a swim and splash in the waterpark. Throw in a ride on the mountain coaster or zipline through the trees, and you can bank on perma-grins all around. Want a little time to yourself? Send the kids down to the arcade then sneak off to the spa for a massage.

4. Paradise Stream Resort

It’s about to get mighty steamy in the couples-only Paradise Stream Resort, and we don’t just mean in the heart-shaped hot tubs. Swim in the bliss of a 7ft (2m) tall champagne tower before joining your beau in the spa for a couples’ massage. You’ll always find a concert, comedy set or other fun show on the calendar, but if you prefer a little privacy in your evening, there’s plenty of room for two to stare up at the celestial ceilings from your round king-size bed.

5. Woodloch Pines Resort

You surely won’t be able to explore all 1,500 acres (607ha) of the Woodloch Pines Resort grounds, but that won’t stop your kids from trying. They’ll be able to make their way around via go karts, bumper boats, ice skates and zip lines. They’ll even be able to scour any territory they’ve missed by scaling the six-sided rock wall. Feeling exhausted just thinking about it? Gigi’s Coffee House will keep you pepped-up throughout the duration of your stay.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
