This city in Northeastern Ohio is a gateway to Ohio’s extensive Amish Country and combines small town charm with big city culture. Alongside its lively art scene you’ll also find some of the best dining in the state here. We list the 10 best options in Canton for a good meal.

Angry Barbeque

The price is right and the food is famously good at Angry Barbecue. This grill restaurant definitely shows dedication when it comes to meat, the food is full of flavor and cooked just right. The dishes are served both sit-in and take-away with a no-fuss presentation. Indeed the interior is more akin to a traditional American diner than a hip burger joint, which does well in not distracting from the amazing burgers served at Angry Barbeque.

Benders Tavern

Although unassuming from the outside, Benders Tavern is an historic restaurant dating back to 1899. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with wood paneling, coffered ceilings and original murals and is definitely worth a visit for the aesthetic alone. However the food and service is also highly commendable. Be sure to try their fried oysters, or some of the other seafood dishes as they are supreme. The tavern can get busy so be sure to reserve a table beforehand.

Desert Inn

The Desert Inn has a great Arabic interior design and more importantly real authentic Middle Eastern food. Their trademark skewered beef kabobs are renowned for appetizing presentation and great flavor. The house kibbee is also well recommended, made with beef instead of lamb offering a finer texture. All said, the Desert Inn is a bonafide Middle Eastern diner that offers exceptionally good food and a pleasant atmosphere.
