Some of the best New York restaurants are located within hotels. These spots are perfect for the leisurely breakfast, business lunches, or just a nice spot for dinner and drinks. Here are the 10 best.

NYC

1. Narcissa

Restaurant, Contemporary, American

Narcissa, the farm-to-table restaurant inside the Standard hotel, is warm and inviting whether you’re sitting inside or outside. The décor features a lot of sleek wood, making this place trendy. Narcissa is great for meat eaters and vegetarians alike, as seasonal vegetables are highlighted in their diverse menus for brunch, lunch, and dinner.

2. The NoMad

Restaurant, American

Located inside the NoMad Hotel, The NoMad has long been a hot dinner spot. The food ranges from classic to inventive, like the butter-dipped radishes and the white truffle tagliatelle that comes in two sizes with butter and parmesan. The cocktails aren’t lacking here either. All drinks on the extensive cocktail menu pack a lot of flavor and are made with care. The Library space in the back of the restaurant is perfect for a casual meeting or drinks, and the fried chicken is something you can’t miss. To make this spot even hotter, the service is amazing, attentive, and professional.

3. Maialino

Restaurant, Italian, Romanian

Maialino at the Gramercy Park Hotel serves one of the best bowls of bucatini all’Amatriciana in all of Manhattan. The dining room is cozy while still being upscale, and from certain spots, there’s a view of the greenery of Gramercy Park. The fine Italian dining mixed with the blue checkered tablecloths make this spot perfect for any occasion. Although Maialino is delicious any time of the day, their weekend brunch is fantastic. They serve fresh-baked pastries, pancakes, and delicious egg dishes, like the cacio e pepe soft scrambled eggs with pecorino and black pepper.

4. Reynard

Restaurant, Diner, Bar, American, Vegetarian, Vegan

This Williamsburg restaurant, located inside the Wythe Hotel, has good food with an epic view of the Manhattan skyline from the rooftop bar. Reynard’s brunch of pastries and coffee in the morning, with all the morning light, can’t be missed. In the colder months, the dimly lit, tall-ceilinged dining room with brick walls and large windows is comfortable and nice too. Their menu is seasonal, but they always have their burger, which may be one of the best in New York, or anywhere.

5. The Breslin

Restaurant, British

This April Bloomfield restaurant, nestled in the hip Ace Hotel, is known for its big, hearty meat dishes, like the lamb burger topped with feta or the whole roasted suckling pig, which is available for parties of 8 to 14 and must be booked at least a week in advance. The Breslin has a dark, classy atmosphere with dark wood, which makes the place feel rustic and old-fashioned, mixed with contemporary ornaments. The friendly, attentive staff brings the whole experience together.

6. The Gemma

Brasserie, Restaurant, Boutique Hotel Restaurant, Italian

Although the inside has a dark, inviting atmosphere, The Gemma is known for its hot weekend brunch eaten outside. The food is rustic, mostly Italian, but not too heavy. The traditional recipes are given a hip update to go with the hip downtown neighborhood. The pizza, like the focaccia Robiola with white truffle oil and Robiola cheese, shouldn’t be missed. The pasta, like the mezzalune with lobster and burrata, isn’t half bad either. Because Gemma is a hotel restaurant, it’s open everyday from 7 a.m. to late at night, and the room service kitchen is open 24/7 at the Bowery Hotel.

7. The Dirty French

Bistro, Restaurant, French, Italian

The Dirty French, housed inside the Ludlow Hotel, features delectable French food served in a spacious, chic atmosphere or a garden patio area. The brunch is amazing, especially with their heavenly bloody mary cocktails. They serve complimentary breakfast bread baskets, complete with donuts, Madeleines, and monkey bread. What’s not to love? The dinner menu is bold, and although clearly French, moves beyond the classic French food. The Dirty French brings seriously good food in a charming, flirty French restaurant.

8. Bodega Negra

Bodega, Mexican

Good, spicy Mexican food is hard to find, which is why Bodega Negra at Dream Downtown in Chelsea is a gem. The eclectic, cozy atmosphere is very comfortable. Don’t let the corny façade fool you, Bodega Negra does not joke about spice. The yuca fries are top notch, crispy and fatty on the outside and tender on the inside. The guacamole is great too, chunky, crunchy, and creamy. The ceviche, tacos, and entrées are all delicious, so you can’t go wrong.

9. Café Boulud

Cafe, Restaurant, French

This high-class restaurant is locked inside the Surrey Hotel. Everything from the ambiance to the service and the carefully constructed dishes is elegant. When it’s nice out, the outdoor dining area is delightful, however, the inside dining room is equally nice and full of flowers and colorful works of art. Café Boulud has a traditional, seasonal French selection that caters to those who eat meat and those who don’t.

10. Kingside

Bar, Boutique Hotel Restaurant, Diner, Restaurant, American

Kingside, which is located in the Viceroy Hotel, is best described as an upscale, retro diner with a rooftop bar. The cool mix of industrial tile and metal work mixed with antique mirrors and large flower vases perfectly combines the diner with the high-end hotel restaurant. They serve pizza for breakfast, which you have to love, served with a sunny-side up egg, which adds a soft, creamy element to the classic pizza. There’s complimentary bread with warm, savory tomato jam, which will knock your socks off.
