Hamilton Park BBQ Festival

If there’s one thing that the folks in Jersey City are good at, it’s cooking up some mouthwatering BBQ. This annual celebration gathers together local BBQ vendors like Hamilton Pork, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Jimmy’s BBQ and more. Plus, there are plenty of local breweries to pour you a cold one and live music for a fun vibe. Hosted by The Hamilton Park Conservancy, this event raises important funds to help keep their green space clean and pristine year-round. Check out this year’s festival, happening September 23, 2018.

Project Eats

Jersey City’s non-profit foundation, The Jersey City Project, holds their most delicious event every year called Project Eats. With a name like that, it’s everything you want and more—from gourmet food vendors and trucks to four hand-picked beverage bars to whet your whistle while you munch. It only happens for one weekend in the summer, so you better make sure you’re there. This food-centric festival brings together all the best eateries in Jersey City in one place.

Belgian Beer and Food Fest

If the 40 different Belgian beers on tap don’t entice you to come to JC’s Belgian Beer and Food Fest, then the truffle fries and Belgian waffles will do the trick. Hosted by Zeppelin Hall, this festival pairs an impressive Belgian food menu (warning, vegetarians: it’s heavy on the meat) with their wide array of Belgian beers on draft and ready to drink. Come hungry, thirsty and ready to dance, of course, because like any good street fair, there’s plenty of live music.

The Journal Square Green Market

Market
For over 20 years, the Journal Square Greenmarket has been a weekly staple for locals. Although this isn’t a special event, a good farmer’s market lives at the heart of every great neighborhood, and this one is no exception. Dealing out fresh fruits and veggies as well as homemade goods such as empanadas, mozzarella, and even fresh fish, you’ll always score a good market haul here.
