New York City is known for its constant energy. It’s known for being a place where there’s so much going on, making it an epicenter of arts and culture and a place full of unique things to do. That said, it’s easy to fall into a routine here. Like anywhere, it’s easy to get a bit lazy, a bit comfortable, sticking to the same bars and restaurants for your nights out. And while there’s nothing wrong with having a regular spot, sometimes you want to switch things up by having a unique, memorable night full of the adventure that NYC is all about. So if that’s what you’re looking for, here are some ideas.

Sleep No More

Sleep No More is hard to describe – the only way to really understand it is by experiencing it. It’s an interactive theater experience where you walk through the rooms of venues seeing different shows and encountering different things, so even if you’ve been before, no two Sleep No More experiences are the same. It’s impossible to predict what will happen, but it’s safe to say your Sleep No More adventure will be a unique one.

Trapeze School New York

Isn’t it every kid’s (and adult’s) dream to fly on a trapeze? If so, you can now fulfill it at Trapeze School New York. They offer two-hour courses throughout the day, both at their outdoor Pier 40 Rooftop location in Manhattan with gorgeous views of the city and at their indoor Brooklyn location in South Williamsburg.

For those who grew up in the 90s, there’s no way to have more fun than spending Friday night at Le Poisson Rouge for their infamous 90’s night. There’s a live band every Friday night that covers all of your 90’s favorites, and even if you’re not usually one to dance and sing out loud, it’s impossible not to. It can get crowded, but if you’re up for it, it’s an amazingly good time.

Take A Bath

If you need something more relaxing than a typical night out, try soaking in an ancient bath. For a full pampering, head to Aire Ancient Baths in Tribeca, Manhattan where you’ll be treated like royalty while soaking in the most luxurious of pools. Or, for a more modest experience, head to the Turkish & Russian Baths in the East Village. A single day admission ticket here is just $35, so you can soak away the day and night at a reasonable price.

You know its luxury when its lit only by candles. Heres an image to help get you through the Monday.

Pizza Tour

When in New York City, you must eat pizza, and if you want to try multiple pizzerias in one night, check out Scott’s Pizza Tours. The owner of the company, Scott Wiener, is a legend in the pizza world, and he knows almost everything there is to know about pizza. Most of his public tours are in the daytime (the Lower East Side tour is in the evening), so if you’re looking for a late-night crawl, it’s best to book a private tour. Scott is an amazing tour guide, a delightful character, and he’ll lead you to an excellent slice.

Scott will tell you where to meet for your tour.

Secret Formula Sing Along

More 80’s and 90’s singing and dancing – Secret Formula Sing Along was created by Michael Austin with the goal of putting on events in Brooklyn to bring out your inner 90’s kid. More than just sing-alongs, Secret Formula puts on all sorts of events, including ‘Spoons Toons & Booze’ that includes watching cartoons, eating cereal, and drinking, so whatever’s on is sure to make you feel nostalgic.

Royal Palms Shuffleboard has become hugely popular in recent years, and it’s easy to see why. It’s essentially a playground for adults – it’s a giant space where you can play shuffleboard or Jenga, drink tiki-themed libations, and eat fried chicken. The place gets busy, and you can only reserve a shuffleboard lane ahead of time if you have a large group, so the key move is to round up all of your friends and book ahead of time.
