Curated by Ariele Max, this quarterly event fuses activism and the cathartic release of expression. This collective fueled by creative push-back, political coiling, a gathering of truth, of anger, of love, is also a guided reminder of self-worth.
Touching on trauma, the event also encourages you to scream, rage, and allow yourself to be immersed in the discomfort of pain through art.
Orange Piece is a multi-sensory performance by Samantha CC. It deals with the peeling away of layers in order to get to the juice. The 20 minute piece functions as a healing ritual, and features singing and an original sound track.
Through a lecture based performance Stephanie Mercedes blends movement, oral history and projected image to question the singularity of memory and reveal missing violent histories. Mercedes’ performances are part of her “Luz del Día: Copyrighting the Light of Day” project that is combating copyright legislation that would erase the photographic archive from the Argentine Dictatorship.
