Set amidst the tranquil Ross Conifer Arboretum in the world-renowned New York Botanical Gardens, Hudson Garden Grill opened in April 2015 as the Garden’s first full-service dining destination. Hudson Garden Grill, puts an innovative spin on New American cuisine, offering exceptional and ethical, fare with flare.

Enjoy bucolic views of one of New York City’s prized botanical and cultural institutions as you enjoy a glass of local wine from the Finger Lakes, or a freshly made cocktail of strawberry, basil and Absolut Citron.

High ceilings and large, arched windows foster an airy, spacious atmosphere from within Hudson Garden Grill’s main dining room, which incorporates thoughtful aesthetic elements conveying a natural motif. Whitewashed red oak panels made of Garden trees destroyed by Hurricane Sandy, metal chandeliers and checkered tablecloths afford a rustic quality offset by sophisticated leather seating. An intimate and refined yet relaxing dining experience, Hudson Garden Grill draws from its incomparable setting as the unforgettable culinary component to your Garden experience. Hudson Garden Grill is operated by Stephen STARR Events, the event and catering arm of renowned Stephen STARR Restaurants.

An inspired menu incorporates locally and ethically sourced ingredients from Hudson Valley farms and nearby regional producers to create outstanding dishes thoughtfully curated by award-winning Executive Chef Julian Alonzo.

Start your meal with the crispy Feather Ridge Farm egg with farmer’s cheese, garden peas, white asparagus and morels, or opt for a hamachi tartar of avocado, pine nuts, preserved lemon and apples.

A soup and salad selection offers the likes of beets with blue cheese croutons and candied pecans with house-made yogurt, or English pea soup with wild spring onion and pea shoots. Sandwiches range from a classic burger with bacon and aged cheddar to the lobster club with avocado, bacon and heirloom tomatoes on a pepper brioche with jalapeño mayonnaise.

Dine on Tasmanian sea trout with fava beans, ramps, radishes and asparagus, mussels in a red curry with fries, or bucatini pasta with lobster Bolognese and local ricotta cheese, and finish your meal with an indulgent devil’s chocolate parfait, or vanilla panna cotta with olive oil cake.

Since 1891, the New York Botanical Garden has served as one of the premier ‘living museums’ in New York City and the world. With 250 acres of expertly cultivated flora, the Garden is an urban oasis, a world-class institution for education and research, and a cultural icon.
