Since 1877, the Westminster Kennel Club (WKC) has hosted an annual dog show in New York City at Madison Square Garden. The 2018 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the event’s 142nd edition, featured approximately 3,000 dogs from around the United States competing for the coveted moniker of being named Best in Show.
Westminster Week is full of activities around the city for animal lovers. There’s an annual “Meet the Breeds” event at Piers 92/94 where fans can pet the various dogs and learn about what makes them great pets.
Here’s a look at some of the breeds that were at the event.
