What used to be an unassuming, quiet area is now filled with vibrant energy and hungry people. Make Downtown Brooklyn your newest culinary destination with these top local brunch spots.

Did you know – Culture Trip now does bookable, small-group trips? Pick from authentic, immersive Epic Trips, compact and action-packed Mini Trips and sparkling, expansive Sailing Trips.

Bijan’s

While you never need an excuse for a boozy brunch, if there ever was one, it’s this: medicinal cocktails. Bijan’s not only offers brunch classics such as eggs and bacon or brunch options with a twist such as saffron semolina pancakes, it offers cocktails with medicinal herbs. So stop by for your weekend brunch and a rejuvenating kick on Sunday morning.

Bacchus, Brooklyn

Fittingly named after the god of wine, this bistro and wine bar offers, unsurprisingly, a fantastic wine selection, alongside French classics such as Bénédicte au crabe: a glorious dish of crab cakes, eggs Benedict, and hash browns. So if you’re in the market for a traditional French brunch, come to Bacchus Bistrot a Vins for classics such as the Croque Monsieur and the cornflake-crusted French toast.

Junior’s Restaurant

Best known for their colossal slices of incredible cheesecake, Junior’s Restaurant is the place to go when you want dessert for breakfast. Each breakfast dish comes with a choice of beverage, and depending on what you get, it also comes with eggs, a slice of tomato, home fries, and grits. Whether you build your own brunch or pick from the chef’s specialities section, Junior’s is sure to satisfy your cravings.

Amarachi

There aren’t too many Afro-Caribbean brunch places to choose from in Brooklyn, which is the perfect reason to pay Amarachi a visit. The brunch menu is split into four sections: drinks, morning essentials, Sunday proper, and redzone munchees. If you’re after a ‘morning essential’ you can find the likes of steak and eggs or chicken and waffles, but most importantly, bottomless mimosas served in a carafe. The menu offers classic brunch options alongside fusion dishes such as the spicy Fisherman Stew.

Grand Army

An oyster bar isn’t the usual go-to spot for brunch, but Grand Army is likely to change that. From oysters to crab legs, shrimp cocktail, or a seafood mix, Grand Army meets all of your needs. Not in the mood for seafood? Try the dandelion greens, summer squash toast, or a charcuterie board.

La Défense

La Défense has eight different cocktails. Better yet, there’s outdoor seating, so you can enjoy those bellini and ricotta pancakes with a view of Downtown Brooklyn. If you’re feeling luxurious, opt for the pistachio-crusted salmon. The restaurant’s Parisian cafe vibe is sure to complete your lazy weekend morning.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
