This winter’s deals start Monday, January 23 and run through Friday, February 10. Note that many restaurants have separate (and generally more limited) menus for Restaurant Week, and some participate for only lunch or dinner rather than both meals. It’s worth checking each restaurant’s website or the official Restaurant Week site to confirm details. Here are ten participating restaurants worth a visit.
Most people agree that Cafe Boulud is their favorite of celebrity chef Daniel Boulud’s restaurants; it’s certainly mine. Restaurant Week dishes will include duck terrine and Za’atar-marinated porgy, a mild, sweet-flavored fish. Participating in Restaurant Week for weekday lunches only.
An upscale French brasserie from the prolific restaurateur Keith McNally, Cherche Midi offers classic dishes from the French canon—think chanterelle omelets and steak tartare. Participating in Restaurant Week for weekday lunches and Sunday dinner.
With contemporary British cuisine (offerings include a luxe version of fish and chips, and shepherd’s pie with lamb) served in a stylish setting, The Clocktower is a popular power-lunch spot, Instagram-worthy from every angle. Participating in Restaurant Week for weekday lunches only.
Chef Alex Stupak’s creative Mexican cuisine renders Empellon Cocina a favorite among New York City’s food cognoscenti. I’ve been daydreaming about Stupak’s uni toast ever since I first tried it a few weeks ago, so I’m thrilled to see it’s one of the dishes on the Restaurant Week menu. Participating in Restaurant Week for dinner only, Tuesdays through Fridays.
Gotham Bar and Grill
One of New York City’s classic restaurants, Gotham Bar and Grill is a posh spot serving classic New American fare. You absolutely cannot skip the legendary chocolate cake for dessert. Participating in Restaurant Week for weekday lunches only.
A gorgeous French-influenced bistro and cafe/bakery, Lafayette remains a hot spot; in our opinion it’s best during the daytime, when sunlight streams in through the enormous windows and the NoHo-neighborhood people-watching is at its prime. Restaurant Week menu options include rotisserie chicken and a duck cassoulet. Participating in Restaurant Week for weekday lunches and dinner Sundays through Fridays.
At Narcissa, chef John Fraser places vegetables in the spotlight in delicious dishes like rotisserie-crisped beets and carrots Wellington. How much do I love this place? Well, I rounded up my entire office to join me there for lunch during a previous restaurant week. This time around, the restaurant is only participating for dinner, Mondays through Fridays.
Root & Bone
Root & Bone’s elevated Southern fare has diners swooning over its famous fried chicken. Participating in Restaurant Week for lunches and dinners, Sunday through Friday.
