Identità Golose was founded in 2004 by an Italian food journalist as a culinary organization highlighting the best of Italian cuisine. Since then, it’s expanded to host acclaimed international chefs’ forums in major cities around the world, bringing together some of the biggest names in the food world for classes and dinners open to the public.
This year’s theme is “Don’t waste the planet; the truth is in the dish”—focusing on the interconnection between culinary and environmental issues, and recognizing that chefs no longer simply prepare delicious dishes, but are ambassadors of sustainability and awareness.
The upcoming New York City event will be drawing some enormous food-world personalities; you’ll recognize Massimo Bottura and Virgilio Martinez and Ana Roš from Chef’s Table. From October 10-12, half a dozen of the world’s best chefs will be pairing up to give seminars, and collaborating on a dine-around dinner on the evening of October 11.
Let’s be honest: The dinner is the prime experience here—where else can you have so many chefs of this caliber all cooking for you? It’s a progressive format; you’ll move from venue to venue within Eataly Flatiron; at each stop, a different chef will personally serve you a dish they’ve prepared, with wine pairing.
We’re told the meal will progress as follows:
