Founded as a one-night event by Lee Brian Schrager — who still holds the title of Festival Director as well as Senior Vice President at Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits—the NYCWFF has grown to a four-day event (October 12–15 in 2017) attracting award-winning chefs, culinary personalities, entertainers, and top international wine and spirit producers. With over 500 chefs to choose from, attendees can expect to sample delectable bites and a chance to sip on beverages produced by one of the 80wine and spirit companies—selected from Southern Glazer’s portfolio.
But who exactly is Southern Glazer? Well, as North America’s largest wine and spirits distributor—operating in 44 of the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Canada, and the Caribbean—you could say they hold significant clout in the beverage industry. Needless to say, this corporation has the manpower and connections to attract and successfully engage the industry’s most important players.

Beyond its ability to serve world-class refreshments, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits has long been recognized for its philanthropic efforts and at the NYCWFF is has harnessed the power of industry influencers to do good. Attracting more than 50,000 attendees over the four-day period, the festival turns a pretty penny. Amazingly, the NYCWFF makes sure 100% of the net proceeds benefit the Food Bank For New York City and the No Kid Hungry campaign, which gives you yet another reason to go out and buy your tickets to this year’s event.
