Enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in a comfortable environment at Erio’s. Owners Pietro and Joan Pulizzi have been in the restaurant business since 1970, and Erio’s has been a favorite in the St Peters community for decades. Try a cooked-to-order, hand-cut steak, delicious fresh seafood, or one of the high-quality pasta dishes. The Pulizzis source the best ingredients to make their dishes stand out. Save room for one of Joan’s homemade desserts such as New York cheesecake or the Murder by Chocolate Cake, a flourless chocolate cake.

2. Hobos At The American Legion

Hobos At The American Legion

Hobos prides itself on simple food; fried chicken, catfish, ribs, and pulled pork are the house specialties, and all of the food is rubbed with Hobos’s special blend of spices before being smoked on-site. In the smoker the food is cooked over pecan and apple wood to give it a unique, smoky flavor. Order ‘half a cluck’ of fried chicken to try Hobos’s most popular meal. The menu is packed with plenty of reasonably priced options, like salads, sandwiches, wraps, and burgers.

3. Lil' Mickey’s Memphis Barbeque

Lil’ Mickey’s Memphis Barbeque

Lil’ Mickey’s owners Charles and Robbie Butler began with a simple, delicious barbecue sauce in 1988. Once requests started pouring in to feature the barbecue at special events, they knew they were on to something good. Lil’ Mickey’s Memphis Barbeque opened in St. Peters in 2005. Order a tender brisket sandwich or a half a slab of St Louis-style ribs smothered in barbecue sauce and try some of the popular side dishes, such as potato salad, slaw, baked beans, and more.

If you’re in the mood to try a new twist on a classic, try Francesco’s St Louis-style pizza. The thin, cracker-like crust, the signature of St. Louis pizzas, is made without yeast but is deliciously crunchy. The pizzas are topped with creamy Provel cheese, a blend of different cheeses made specifically for pizzas in St Louis. The cheesy garlic bread and house-made salads are delicious ways to fill up a large appetite. The restaurant is small but cozy with a great atmosphere. It tends to fill up quickly on weekends, so show up early to grab a table.

Copper Chimney Indian Cuisine

For excellent Indian cuisine, try Copper Chimney’s nouveau Indian fare. The restaurant is tucked away and can be difficult to find, but it is worth the search. The new take on old recipes blends familiar Indian flavors with western cooking styles and fresh, seasonal produce. The top-notch lunch buffet is constantly replenished to keep the food fresh, flavorful, and full of spice. At dinnertime, the buffet is replaced with friendly and helpful servers.

Another excellent option for consistently good fried chicken is Chicken Coop. The small, unassuming restaurant is home to some of the best fried chicken (and fried okra) in the area. Juicy, MSG-free chicken is cooked to order in the Southern-style restaurant. The chicken has just the right amount of breading and spices and is fresh instead of greasy. The prices are similar to those of fast food restaurants, but the food is a cut above. Call ahead to have your food prepared hot and fresh to pick up in about 15 minutes.

Hibachi Boy Japanese Grill

Come to Hibachi Boy for delicious Japanese shared plates. The food is prepared quickly and is full of flavor, and the friendly, fast-casual service is helpful without getting in your way. Order a generously portioned entrée like the hibachi garlic chicken, red curry pad Thai, or teriyaki chicken. If you’re in the mood for sharing, try some smaller dishes, like sushi, nigiri, and pot stickers. The bubble tea is a perfectly sweet and tasty treat after your meal.

Stefanina’s is a restaurant where you can find the cracker-thin crust and gooey Provel cheese beloved of locals on their pizza here. The hot wings are also delicious as an appetizer but bold enough to be your entrée. With a homey, small-town local atmosphere you’ll feel like you’re part of the family. Despite the fact that the pizzas are packed with toppings, they don’t feel heavy because of their thin, crispy crust.

8. El Mezon

Restaurant, Mexican, American, Vegetarian

For the best Mexican food in the area try El Mezon. Start with a round of margaritas and queso dip for your chips. The friendly atmosphere is great for families looking for a new lunch spot and has plenty of options for children.
