The Schlafly Tap Room

Schlafly is a local brewery that brings the community together. The brewery itself, known as Bottleworks, offers free beer schools where those interested can learn about the history of Schlafly, the brewing process, and more interactive features. Bottleworks also hosts tours of the facilities, so you can see with your very own eyes how such delicious beer is made. Once you’ve educated yourself, pop on over to their Tap Room, which serves all of their delicious beers in addition to pub fare. Try the beer cheese, beer battered fish and chips, and beer bread. Depending on which night you visit, you might even stumble upon a live musical performance.

Urban Chestnut Brewing Company

Affectionately known to locals as UCBC, this St. Louis brewery perfectly blends timeless taste with modern flavors. They serve 15 beers in their ‘Revolution’ series, which are modern artisanal American beers, and the 13 beers in their ‘Reverence’ series celebrate classic European-styled drafts. Adding to the creative drafts are over 10 delicious bottled beers. UCBC has two separate brewery locations, each of which has a restaurant and bar. The patio and garden area at their Manchester location is decorated with umbrellas for the day and twinkle lights for the night, creating premium ambiance. You can’t drink on an empty stomach – sample their famous pretzels, waffles, poutine, pomme fries, and more. Stop by for Oktoberfest or other fun events they host throughout the year, including live music.

Located in a small industrial area, 4 Hands specializes in barrel-aged brews crafted to perfection. Take tours of their facilities and sample some of their most popular and unique brews to find one that’s just right for you, and then pull up a chair at their pub and enjoy a pint of your selection while munching on one of their yummy snacks. The menu features nachos, wings, pretzel bites, and other dishes perfect for sharing. Unlike a loud, trendy bar, 4 Hands offers a more laid-back environment. Perennial Artisan Ales

Perennial is a thriving St. Louis brewery. Stop by on Saturdays to take a tour of their 14,000-foot facility to learn about their history, what they brew, and how they do it. The offer over 15 artisan ales for customers to sample and buy, including the ever popular Bailey’s Chocolate Ale. Whether it’s sweet, tangy, or even spicy, Perennial offers an array of flavors that will tickle your fancy. There’s a small menu comprised of mostly appetizers, but each item pairs perfectly with one of their seasonal beers. More quiet and casual, Perennial provides a very pleasant experience.

Square One Brewery and Distillery

Beer is just the beginning for Square One Brewery. Also a distillery, they make vodka, gin, whiskey, and rum and offer regular tours. There’s a full menu, which features a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, build-your-own burger option, and even a special kids’ menu. Once you try a Square One brew, it’ll instantly become one of your favorites, so when this inevitably happens, join their Beer of the Month Club.
