Even though the French Quarter may seem like the obvious lodging choice when visiting New Orleans, the Mid-City and Tremé neighborhoods – both filled with rich history, national landmarks and grade-A entertainment – offer travelers the possibility of exploring beyond the Quarter’s limits while remaining minutes away from the city’s main attractions. From the Fair Grounds racetrack opened in 1872 to the iconic Louis Armstrong Park, these historic communities are set to show you a side of New Orleans you’ve probably never experienced before.
