Open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week, Ginger’s Café is a charming café doing comfort food the way it should be done. Hearty dishes with familiar flavors will take you back to your childhood, and the friendly staff are great. An eclectic environment with mismatched furnishings, adding that homey touch, diners can expect to find such tasty dishes as sweet cream pancakes, plain or with a choice of blueberries, cranberries, chocolate chips, or pecans, and the meat lover’s omelet for breakfast. For lunch, you’ll find choices such as the award winning spinach melt with creamy provolone cheese and the Sloppy Joe. The café also offers a daily specials, past options have included chicken Alfredo and meatloaf.

Kobayashi Sushi & Asian Kitchen

Family friendly Kobayashi Sushi and Asian Kitchen is owned and operated by Chef Jet Lin and Lisa, his wife. As the name suggests, their specialty is all things Asian, from sushi to Thai to Chinese. Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano

Opened in 2004 by Italy native Matteo DiRosa and Emily Herner, the eponymous restaurant is a warm, inviting space, complete with a tin ceiling, rich orange-colored walls, and soft tunes, making it a wonderful place for a relaxing night out with friends and family or that special someone. The menu features tantalizing options such as the filet mignon baked in puff pastry and served with a flavorful sauce of garlic, roasted pine nuts, and gorgonzola, the pollo amore, or chicken breast sautéed in marsala wine with garlic, mushrooms, and cream and then topped with prosciutto and mozzarella and served on a bed of rice pilaf, and ricotta and spinach ravioli in a creamy tomato sauce. Complement the meal with something from the wine list. Matteo’s is open for lunch weekdays and dinner nightly.

El Palenque

Rosie’s opened in 2010 on The Square with another location following in Zionsville in 2014, it offers homestyle fare, including mouthwatering baked goods from the bakery, such as gooey butter cake. Making everything from scratch using only the best ingredients, the seasonal menus feature an array of goodies, including buttermilk pancakes, chile verde benny, grilled jalapeño corn bread topped with mojo pork loin, poached eggs, black beans, pepper jack cheese, hollandaise, and green salsa, and comforting oatmeal. On the lunch menu, you’ll find salads, sandwiches, and side dishes.

Sunrise Café at Uptown

Another excellent brunch option serving guests Monday through Sunday, Sunrise Café at Uptown opens up bright and early at 6am and closes at 2pm. A classic diner interior, albeit with an eclectic twist, complete with booths, counter seats, blue and white checkered floors, unique light fixtures, and sunny-yellow walls, greets guests the moment they walk in, making it a delightful spot in which to feast upon homestyle recipes. For breakfast, try the Cowboy Benedict, which finds a homemade biscuit topped with sausage patties, poached eggs, and sausage gravy, and for lunch, you can’t go wrong with the double bacon cheeseburger.
