Mosque Alert Opens At Silk Road Rising

Picture of Culture Trip
Updated: 22 April 2016
Set in Naperville, Mosque Alert tells the story of how a town’s people are affected by a plans of a proposed Islamic Center by a town landmark. The story is inspired by the real struggle of Muslim communities wanting to build new community spaces in the USA after 9/11 — in particular the so called ‘Ground Zero Mosque’ in New York City. This is the world premiere of the play written by Jamil Khoury, which seeks to explore modern Islamophobia and family drama with humor and honesty. Tickets are $35.
