Iran’s ‘Burnt Generation’ refers to those born between 1972 and 1990, who lived through the nation’s 1979 revolution, the Iran – Iraq war, and the consequences of both. The Museum of Contemporary Art is hosting a group exhibition of photographers from this generation of political upheaval. Many of these photos have never been displayed in the USA before. The featured photographers are Azadeh Akhlaghi, Gohar Dashti, Shadi Ghadirian, Babak Kazemi, Abbas Kowsari, Ali Nadjian and Ramyar Manouchehrzadeh, Newsha Tavakolian, and Sadegh Tirafkan.
