In 1947, a couple of years after coming back home from World War II, brothers Moe and Joe Krinsky opened their tavern specializing in cold beer, hot dogs, and hamburgers. They hired their first employee in 1949, and the legendary Mr. Horace McKinnie served the patrons of Moe’s & Joe’s until he retired in 2001. In the 1950’s Pabst Blue Ribbon began to be served on tap, and people from all over the city still visit the bar to savor the drink.
