Kaleidoscope Bistro and Pub

Kaleidoscope Bistro serves “global comfort food” that looks and tastes different each time – hence the name. The restaurant integrates a blend of flavors from Southern, Asian, Mexican, and Mediterranean influences. Owner Joey Riley attended the Culinary Institute of America in New York and worked with renowned chefs before opening up his dream restaurant in 2010 in Brookhaven. Since then, Kaleidoscope has been challenging traditional dishes with modern twists in a fun and trendy setting.

Haven Restaurant

Haven has been voted a top 10 Atlanta restaurant for six straight years. The establishment is known for having the best contemporary farm-to-table cuisine in the Brookhaven area. The dining experience includes a large patio, beautiful light decor, attentive servers, and live music every Thursday evening. Haven opened up in 2003 and chef Stephen Herman has been cooking up seasonal seafood, steaks, and a variety of other entrées ever since. Be sure to try the beignets too.

The One Sushi +

One Sushi + is a popular Asian fusion restaurant in a sleek, industrial setting in Brookhaven Village. The restaurant utilizes modern takes on traditional Japanese dishes with one-of-a-kind options like spicy miso soup with Korean squash, sesame asparagus fries with black truffle oil, and yellowtail jalepeño shots with sriracha and honey yuzu. A variety of heat-induced spices are used such as sriracha, wasabi aioli, jalapeños, and chili teriyaki. Each piece of sushi and tempura is delicately made to look like an individual piece of art. The modern flavors, beautiful displays, and welcoming service make One Sushi + a pleasurable dinner location.

From the street, this restaurant looks like an ordinary curbside house, but inside it serves up the most authentic French cuisine in town – and at a great price. Customers can even BYOB for a cheap corkage fee. Or, choose a glass of wine or cup of coffee to go with your lunch or dinner. Au Rendez-Vous Bistro’s homey setting provides a variety of French dishes including escargots, crepes, beef bourguignon, braised duck, and seafood selections. The French bistro is a small neighborhood restaurant with big flavor.

Verde Taqueria

This Mexican restaurant has been growing in popularity and business ever since four foodie friends opened its doors in 2009. Verde’s motto started as “fresh taste, local flavor” and it has remained true to this statement. This is a great hangout spot for lunch and dinner with friends, family, young professionals, or a date. Tacos are less than $4 and have no processed ingredients. There are also zesty salads, quesadillas, and margaritas made with 100 percent blue agave tequila and fruity house-made mixes. Verde is a trendy restaurant full of fun and flavor.

Bua Thai offers an extensive menu of Thai food, sushi rolls, and a full liquor bar. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with green tea-colored walls, fresh flavors, vibrant artwork, and swanky light fixtures. Inside the Town Brookhaven shopping center near Oglethorpe University, Noche provides students, professionals, and families with daily Mexican menu items. Noche is known for its triple threat of “tequila, tapas, and tacos.” All three are worth a visit to this upbeat venue. Noche offers four different types of margaritas, tequila flights, and not-so-standard Mexican fare. Some noteworthy treats include the grilled street corn, pistachio-crusted trout, tuna cucumber tostada, and lobster tacos. You can also order any taco in a lettuce wrap. Old Brick Pit Barbeque

Old Brick Pit has been serving up Atlanta-influenced barbecue since 1976. Created by an Atlanta native, Old Brick Pit has prepared the same original recipe for the last 30 years. The barbecue sauce is vinegar-based and not too sweet, the way many argue barbecue ought to be. The restaurant has been featured by Southern Foodways Alliance and Southern Living magazine for making outstanding barbecue for the Brookhaven area. The meat is smoked in a traditional open fire pit for more than 24 hours before being served in slider-sized sandwiches, rib plates, and Brunswick stews.
