There’s also the possibility of buying the prime Miami Beach pad with many of the furniture and objects designed by the architect herself, so that the residence can be kept as she left it.
The huge three-bed apartment, which measures 2,299 square feet (214 square metres), wraps around the edge of the stylish W hotel, with spectacular views of the ocean and the world-famous South Beach.
As you’d expect, Zaha Hadid reworked the original plans to customise the space to suit her needs – she created one grand one-bed residence with prime sea views from the main living space and the terraces, plus another separate guest apartment that also has great views of the seafront below.
The striking interior is crisp white with accents of electric neon brights – a nod to the buzzing South Beach – plus decked out with streamlined furniture in her classic space-age style.
Hadid’s spectacular former residence is now on the market for US$10 million (around UK£8 million), which might be a princely sum, but for the right owner, this residence, designed by one of the most important female architects of our era, is worth cherishing.
