Miami’s Design District is a hot bed of art, music, culture and cuisine. Neighboring the Wynwood District and MiMo District, the Design District offers a fusion of art and retail businesses intermingled with galleries and boutique fashion stores. Whether dropping in for the annual Art Basel fair, or for a beach vacation getaway, here’s ten restaurants in the Design District that shouldn’t be missed.

Did you know – Culture Trip now does bookable, small-group trips? Pick from authentic, immersive Epic Trips, compact and action-packed Mini Trips and sparkling, expansive Sailing Trips.

Buena Vista Deli

In Miami’s coolest, authentic neighborhood, Buena Vista Deli offers artisan crafted breads baked daily in the French style, as well as homemade paté and a variety of homemade pastries. Customers can also enjoy a sandwich or panino, handcrafted with fresh ingredients. Everything you order is amazing, especially the Rasta Garden, which consists of tomatoes, squash, Portobello mushrooms, spinach and homemade pesto.

The District Miami is located in the up-and-coming ‘restaurant row’ within the Design District. Partner and Executive Chef Horacio Rivadero, donned by Food and Wine Magazine as one of the Best New Chefs in the Gulf Region, created the menu by combining Pan-American flavors with local ingredients. Dinner at The District Miami begins with freshly baked cheese bread, before proceeding to signatures like the tuna tartar and lobster malanga tacos, or cobia and corvina ceviches, which include octopus, calamari and crab. Side dishes offered are a sweet honey truffle yucca mash, a chipotle mayo yellow sweet corn and seasonal okra with pickled peaches. Not only delicious, but with great offers throughout the week, it really is a must visit.

Harry’s Pizzeria

Harry’s Pizzeria is the Genuine Hospitality Group’s second restaurant in the Design District. Harry’s has a local neighborhood feel and serves up artisan pizza cooked in wood burning ovens. With floor-to-ceiling windows, rustic décor and a focal piece painting by local artists Friends With You, Harry’s is a comfortable locale with a variety of menu items, including Gluten- free pizzas. Harry’s also offers daily specials and features a rotating tap brew of all four of Michaels Home Brew varieties. Try the Caponata Pizza, which consists of eggplant, mozzarella, pecorino and basil.

Lemoní Café

Breakfast brunch

Staples like Panini sandwiches, salads and wraps make this neighborhood café a hit with the locals. With menu including soups and pitas alongside homemade desserts and a glass of Argentinean wine, Lemoní Café promises that if you eat well, you feel well. Recently expanding to offer a brunch menu on Sundays, Lemoní Café will satisfy any hungry stomach. Try the roast beef melt, proscuitto wrap and Lemoní supremo, accompanied by a fresh smoothie, beer or wine.

Mandolin Aegean Bistro

Hailing from Greece and Turkey, with a nod to home cooking and heritage, the Mandolin Aegean Bistro is owned by Erkaya and Anastasia Koutsioukis. The couple could autonomously relate to music of the Mandolin, which was played by a family member in each of their Greek and Turkish families and now hangs in the bistro as a symbol of union. The couple pays detailed attention to the ingredients in their food, served from an on-property garden that grows tomatoes, peppers, greens and herbs. Menu must haves include the Greek sampler and Kefte, which consists of grilled beef and lamb meatballs.

Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink

With a message of ‘fresh, simple and pure,’ Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink was one of the first popular and successful dining establishments in Miami’s Design District. With a body of staff that is serious about food from the intake to the outtake, Michael’s works with local fishermen, ranchers and artisans to procure a rotating menu that is as delectable as it is sustainable. Some menu favorites include duck hash parsley aioli, poached duck egg; shrimp & grits roasted tomatoes, chorizo, kale; bananas foster French toast and the kimchi bloody Mary. Michael’s offers a well-rounded lunch, dinner and brunch menu.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
