Vizcaya’s 31st Annual Halloween Sundowner
Dance the night away at the stunning Vizcaya Museum & Gardens for their 31st Annual Halloween Sundowner. The former villa of James Deering located in Coconut Grove boasts spectacular views of Biscayne Bay and European maze gardens that make it perfect for a costume affair. This year, the event will host three stages with live music by Patrick & The Swayzees, The State Of, and Tamboka. Enjoy the dance floor, a premium open bar, and a costume contest. Judged by a panel of local celebrities, the contest categories include Best Female Costume, Best Male Costume, Best Group Costume and can include myth, mystery, and fantasy. All proceeds benefit the restoration efforts of the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.

Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival
Scarecrows, cornstalks, and pumpkins, oh my! The Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival kicks off with roller coasters, bounce houses and a food fair open to all ages. Enjoy the Pumpkin Food Court Feast, and what’s a festival without a little alcohol? Head to the Pumpkin Beer Garden for a light buzz.

Spooky Symphony at the Adrienne Arsht Center
Watch the Alhambra Orchestra and Greater Miami Youth Symphony perform a Halloween concert with musical scores such as the spooky “Danse Macabre” and “Night on Bald Mountain.” The event is free and takes place at the Knight Concert Hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Get a Fast Access Pass online, or stand in line for first come, first served entrance on the day of the performance.

Jungle Island Knock Knock Halloween

Halloween at the Biltmore Hotel
Attend the Halloween Party, featuring an open bar, buffet dinner, and entertainment, at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Guests are encouraged to dress to impress with handmade costumes to compete in the costume contest. Prizes will go out for the most creative, spookiest, and best couple. The fashionable hotel built in the 1920s has a spooky mystery of its own, with multiple reports of hauntings that date back to when it became a hospital during World War II. Coconut Grove Haunted Walk & Ghost Tour
Departing from Coconut Grove Playhouse, this educational ghost tour visits sights where people have spotted the spirits of ancient indigenous people as well as specters in the playhouse and soldiers and sailors that linger in the area. The length of the tour is about two hours and covers about a half mile.
Fridays and Saturdays in October; starts at 7:45 p.m.

Bay Skate Miami Halloween
Put on your roller blades and go outdoor skating. Bay Skate Miami hosts free rollerblading events along with music and food trucks. Skate rentals, provided by Super Wheels, are available all night (while supplies last). The event meets at Bayfront Park by Claude Pepper Fountain.

House of Horror
Step in for a thrilling night of spine-chilling events and carnival fun. This year, the House of Horror Amusement Park will feature a “1455 Asylum” (a haunted insane ward with creepy hallways that you can roam through in the dark due to a staged power outage) and “Gates of Phobia” (a 3D experience that torments those with a fear of insects, reptiles, spiders, clowns, etc.). There will also be “Hellzapoppin” (a circus freak show); a “Freak Emporium” (a haunted gallery exhibiting artifacts such as a two-headed Siamese baby skull and chupacabra remains); and countless carnival rides and games, along with food and live performances.

Ghost Tour at the Deering Estate
Hear all about the paranormal activity sighted at the Deering Estate at Cutler. The estate offers two tours: Historic Ghost Stories Tour and the Deering Estate Spookover. The first tour includes a walk around the historic home as you listen to stories of the estate’s previous inhabitants and walk the paths of Native Americans and even Charles Deering himself. A group of volunteer paranormal investigators will lead the Spookover Tour, taking guests to the most active locations on the property. Investigate and attempt to communicate with spirits that roam the houses and main grounds via audio recordings, photographs, and EMF meters that you may bring.
Historic Ghost Stories Tour is $30 on October 19th and 26th from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Deering Estate Spookover is $65 on October 13th from 10 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
