Napa isn’t just for wine anymore—it just became a new destination for tequila.

When someone brings up the Napa Valley, the first thing that comes to most mind is wine. Really good wine.

The Napa Valley Wine Train, which transports lovers of reds, whites, rosés, and bubbles on a vintage 1915 train car adventure, is now extending the trip into tequila town, too. The tour rolls across 36 miles of railroad tracks through charming Napa Valley towns and breathtaking vineyards, offering a variety of day trips and tour options. And while passengers are accustomed to various wine-related debauchery trips, they can now experience their escapades through tequila goggles.

The new Tequila Train made its maiden voyage on Cinco de Mayo. Guests enjoyed a four-course meal that included chips, guacamole and salsa, as well as tortilla soup, rubbed flat-iron steak, and orange mojo chicken served with Mayan rice, queso fresco, and chimichurri. Each course was paired with tequila varieties from Casa Dragones, an independent small batch producer from Jalisco, Mexico. For dessert, passengers enjoyed tres leches with Casa Dragones Joven 100% Pure Agave Azul, which happens to be Oprah’s tequila of choice.

“I’ve sampled tequilas all over the world, but Casa Dragones is still my go-to; blanco is delightful mixed into cocktails, but the one I love for sipping on its own is Joven,” she divulged on her 2017 list of her favorite things.

The Tequila Train is only one of a variety of tour experiences for boozy passengers. Those who are looking for something a little different can dress in their favorite early 20th century garb for a Murder Mystery tour, learn more about the V. Sattui Winery on a Meet the Maker tour, incorporate music into their event with the Blue Note Express Music & Dinner train, or sweep their special someone off their feet on the Romance on the Rails tour.

Although Cinco de Mayo has come and gone, according to Travel & Leisure the train will have two more tequila outings this year—one for National Tequila Day in July, and one for Day of the Dead in October.
