Don’t worry, she’s still alive. Selfies have been in the news a lot lately—particularly regarding their ethicacy (a selfie isn’t worth risking your life, or an animal’s for that matter). Unfortunately, for one Sacramento woman, she learned the hard way after she fell 60 feet from Foresthill Bridge, the highest bridge in California. And officials say the woman is “lucky to be alive.”

So what on earth happened? CNTraveler reported that the currently unidentified woman was just walking with her mates along the girders beneath the bridge: “They were taking a picture on the bridge, and then the big bolts that are holding the beams together, she stepped on them kind of weirdly and lost balance and fell backwards,” her friend Paul Goncharuk told CBS Sacramento.

As you can imagine, it all ended quite badly. CBS reported that she suffered terrible injuries: broken bones and a deep gash on her arm. Thankfully, she is expected to make a full recovery.

It all begs the question. Is the ’gram really that worth it?
