Following the recent juice and smoothie trend, is now the rise of the Acai. The superfood-berry which is native to the rainforests of South America, is not only delicious, but it provides a blast of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that tackle a variety of health concerns from high cholesterol to weight loss and many more.

If you don’t know what an Acai bowl is, it is basically a smoothie that you can eat with a spoon. The berries are combined with other fruits, juices and milks and then blended into a thick, frozen smoothie. The mixture is then poured into a bowl and topped with a multitude of topping options including granola and sliced fruit.

So if you are looking to eat a delicious healthy breakfast, recharge after a workout or grab a midday snack, here are four of the best acai bowls around town:

Robeks Fresh Juices and Smoothies @Robeks, is bringing its customers a taste of tropical paradise with three new Hawaiian-inspired Açaí Bowls that are refreshing tropical treats. The company recently announced their limited time offering (until September 27) which include options: ALOHA BOWL™, NUTTY HAWAIIAN™ and SEEDSATIONAL™.

ALOHA BOWL™ combines the tropical taste of pure açaí and fresh watermelon and is packed with hearty granola, fruit toppings such as fresh bananas, blueberries, and diced pineapple. It’s a perfect balance of nutrition and paradise, just enough to make you feel refreshed and energized. The second item offered is the NUTTY HAWAIIAN™, which is blended with rich all-natural peanut butter, giving the taste of the tropics a nutty twist. A paradise favorite, the customers will find superfruitaçaí and watermelon brimming with freshness and flavor topped with granola and fresh banana. The third item offered is SEEDSATIONAL™, which heavily features Mother Nature’s own super seeds – chia and flax. Featuring pure açaí and fresh watermelon, the bowl delivers immune-boosting antioxidants that are simply delicious and nutritious. Toppings include granola, banana, fresh blueberries and nourishing bee pollen. All bowls are topped with a sprinkling of shredded coconut and drizzled raw honey!
