Tour of Diego Rivera’s 1st Mural

Take a free tour of Diego Rivera’s 1st US mural this Monday. His mural ‘Allegory of California’ will grace the stairwell of the City Club (formerly the Pacific Stock Exchange Club). This piece of art is normally closed the public, so take full advantage of this opportunity to see work by the great Mexican artist Diego Rivera. If you can not make it, keep an eye on the calendar for future free tours.

2015 Día de los Muertos Exhibit

16 years and going strong, the annual Day of the Dead exhibition at SOMArts Cultural Center, taking place October 9 – November 7, merges traditional Mexican altars with contemporary art installations to present a visually stimulating array of perspectives, remembering, honoring, and celebrating the dead. This year’s theme is ‘Today is the Shadow of Tomorrow,’ which responds to institutional racism and violence, inviting artists and visitors to honor those who have unnecessarily lost their lives and look forward to justice in the future.

When: Gallery hours – Tuesday through Friday, 12PM – 7PM

San Francisco Fall Antique Show

Head down to Fort Mason for the the oldest and most prestigious art and antiques fair on the West Coast. If you’re a lover of antiques, come and browse the 60 finest art and antiques dealers from around the world. This is a must-see destination show for collectors and enthusiasts of art, antiques, and design. The items that will be sold on the show floor span the ages, from antiquity through the 20th Century, covering Fine Art, Modern Art, Furniture, Textiles, Photography, Asian Art, Carpets, Ceramics, Porcelain, Sculpture, Rare Books, Works on Paper, Objets d’art, Jewelry, and Metals.

Friday, October 23

Free Adult Swim Drive-In TV Tour on Treasure Island

This is an event that you don’t want to miss. Mixing Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim with a large inflatable object, you bet things are about to get steamy. Adult Swim will screening un-aired episodes of its shows which change throughout the tour and may include Rick and Morty, Robot Chicken, Squidbillies, Mike Tyson Mysteries, Tim and Eric’s Bedtime Stories, and Black Jesus, as well as upcoming series Neon Joe. Roll up in your car or enjoy from the lawn, but make sure you’re legal; this event is only for those 18 and older – sorry, kiddos.
