Purity Ring (DJ Set) at 1015 Folsom

Straight off the heels of sophomore album Another Eternity, Canadian pop-edge duo Purity Ring will headline the official 2015 Snowglobe pre-party at 1015 Folsom this Friday night. The duo’s infectious sound – a combination of crystalline pop melodies and atmospheric vocals – sets them apart from other electronic artists and accounts for their rabid fan base, relentless touring, and sold out shows worldwide. Supported by LA remixer Ghost Loft, this pre-party is sure to be a psychedelic performance you won’t want to miss.

Saturday, October 17

Oakland Autumn Lights Festival

Take a leap down the rabbit hole this weekend and explore the magical, fairy-tale world of lights created at the 4th annual Autumn Light Festival in Oakland. The two-night event will be held in the gardens of Lakeside Park and will exhibit hundreds of mesmerizing light installations by more than a dozen local artists. Music and sound installations will also be featured, and a slew of food trucks and beer and wine tents will add to the festivities.

When: Friday, October 16th + Saturday, October 17 6PM-11PM

Tickets: $20 – all proceeds go toward funding Lake Merritt

LitQuake’s Litcrawl 2015

Don’t miss one of the most anticipated literary events of the year. San Francisco’s 11th Annual Litcrawl takes place this Saturday and will feature an astounding 101 readings and events, including poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and comedy in various bookstores, bars, and galleries throughout the Mission District. The biggest event of its kind – it attracted more than 10,000 attendees last year –, Litcrawl is a book lover’s dream come true and a great way to support the literary scene of San Francisco.

El Rio’s 37th Birthday Party

Everyone’s favorite patio bar is turning thirty seven this weekend and to celebrate El Rio is serving up a full day of free live music, games and barbecue. Head on over to the Mission District this Saturday and help ring in 37 years of reliably stiff drinks and good times!

Treasure Island Music Festival

Head’s up music lovers, Treasure Island Music Festival returns this weekend for a two-day spectacle of entertainment and fun. This year the festival boasts an amazing line-up of indie-rock, hip-hop and electronic artists. Big names like DeadMua5 and the National are set to perform along with up and comers like Big Grams and FKA Twigs. If you want a single day pass hurry up and get your ticket-there going fast!
